Within and without
With an open heart to feel all that is
The open heart, free, can not judge
But only see kindly what is

I call upon my Christ within
I call upon my Buddha-nature
To myself
I move to the light
But remember the light is the very thing that is me
Steering me kindly, safely
Through utter darkness
Clinging

Rise up in me - resurrection - in this mindful moment
Christ, Buddha, compassion for all
The right path, the light in the dark for the well being of all
In me there is peace, Christ
In me there is hope, Buddha [comments] => 3 [counter] => 181 [topic] => 62 [informant] => glendavid [notes] => Edited per request in Poem Edit and Deletion Requests & corrected spelling Moderator_18 - Oct 14, 2009 [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => spiritual )

an interesting poetic litany for centering, with right heart and mind and just enough sampling of the best aspects of two powerful theologies.

Did you mean a 'prayer' to myself?

enjoyed reading this,

Spike

As a lover of Yorkshire myself, this is proper Yorkshire poetry. Creative, deep and interesting. It weaved in and out very intelligently.
