Array ( [sid] => 15605 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Give Me [time] => 2003-04-05 16:25:00 [hometext] => In the poem I ask for time when in reality I just want my life back...that will never be. I will never be the same, and things will never be the same. As I find healing, God calls me to reveal the truth about what happened. He has asked me to confess and ask forgiveness, for my part, from those I have wronged. This brings me to new stages of mourning and surrender. Anger
Rage
All un-caged
Turning to another page

Give me one minuet
Give me an hour
To unleash
An let my anger flower

I’ve hidden it
For too long
Pushed it back
Knowing the wrong

You pushed the issue into the dark
Let me be angry
Just let me be mad
At the way I was had

Give me one hour
Give me a day
For me to scream
And in silence pray

I want to feel it
I want to move on
I want the light
That comes with the dawn

Let me have this day
Just let me smolder
Turn from red to grey
As the anger grows colder

Give me one day
Give me a week
To dig through the depths
Into the soul I seek

Desiring the light
To clean out the dirt
Scattered with anger
Dusted with hurt

Let me have my time
To prepare this heart
To confess my part in the crime
That tore my life apart

Give me one week
Give me a month
To forgive your transgression
Without your confession

Freedom is here
Not quite enough
Revealed to God
No longer able to be tough

Let me continue
To move into the light
Let me regain
My lost precious sight

Give me one month
Give me a year
To humbly face
My greatest fear

To unveil the truth for all
To be submersed in the light
Humbled by God
Transparent to sight

Let me not fear
The light or the truth
Let me not loose
My family so dear

Give me one year
Give me…

Excellent poem and expression, LJ. Good thing to deal with a problem squarely so you can get on with life! Good for you.
