All alone and sad
They walk past me but no one stops
I'm not all that grand
All they see is a broken computer
But I still run just fine
My keys are a little sticky
And my processor's wired just a little wrong
But I still work just not as fast
Twice as hard, though
Lonely am I, the broken machine
No one wants me
I'm not like the others
I don't run fast or hold much information
My screen flickers just a tad
Sometimes I wonder why I was built wrong
If my maker knew my wiring was bad
And if so, why should I have to suffer?
I know how I'm supposed to work
And I try so very hard
But there's always something that goes wrong
And so here I am
I look like a normal computer
And if you run me very slow I could pass
For one that works
But put too many requests into me
And I'll shut down
I hate that I'm not like the others
I know I'm not right
All I want is to find my place
And make someone happy
But how do you make someone happy
When you can't do what they want you to
All I do is disappoint them
They expect me to work like everyone else
To be able to do what they can do
And when they learn I'm broken they are sad
And shut me out of their world
Then I end up here again
Sitting on this landfill hill
Damaged and lonely and sad
Looking for my place in this world [comments] => 2 [counter] => 271 [topic] => 68 [informant] => desolantdreamer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fictional )

How cleverly and brilliantly you have composed this!
You have captured the very essence intended with great thought & care....
Very well done! A thought provoking read.

Wow! What a great write! I have a disabled son and a disabled sister, so I can defiinitely see the relation with a broken down computer. Really enjoyed reading this.
