It cannot be bought, and it is not free.

Its made up of moments, and stitched into place,
Knotted securely, with hardly a trace.

Except for the heartaches that no one can see,
They leave a knot , deep inside me.

There are many stitches, and still more to do,
The memories, the people and dreams are there too.

If you look closely, youll see some are not straight,
These are the ones where I made a mistake.

The bright ones are smiles, someone shared with me,
The dark ones are teardrops, no one did see.

The bold ones are memories, best i forget,
The delicate stitches, are my regrets.

Then theres some gold ones, my favourite kind,
My special memories, I keep in my mind.

The joy and the laughter, the tears and the pain,
Are all there as stitches, always to remain.

My picture is growing, with every new day,
I dont know the reason, it just is this way.

And when I die, Ill get to see,
The finished work of my tapestry.

Life as a tapestry,I like this imagery esp....The joy and the laughter, the tears and the pain, are all there as stiches, always to remain, then the value of the tapestry/life, it cannot be bought and it is not free.I believe it is a gift to be able to add the next line of stitching well written

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
