As you sleep thoughts fill my head,
This sickness came upon you so fast,
My memories return to the recent past.

So strong you have been over the years,
I am trying so hard to hold back my tears,
As a young woman you lost your first love,
Now he is my guardian angel up above.

You carried on though you hurt so much,
But finally gave in to another ones touch,
This love you found has lasted so long,
But I can feel God reaching from his throne.

I pray you will quietly go to sleep,
Not to suffer nor to see me weep,
To give you up will break my heart,
But I will know I have done my part.

No one can ever take your place....
My precious Mother,the Amazing Grace....

God bless you, Annie. This poem is so beautifully sad. I am so sorry about your dear mother. Don't be afraid to let the tears come. I just said a little prayer for you. Hugs from me. Dot

Hello Dot, This is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with in many years...she is 85 and my Dad was killed during WWII..but she did remarry and has had a good life ..but it is so hard to think of losing her..I had not written in several weeks but I needed to do this and thank you again for you precious words and the prayer..Annie..... Keep the Prayers going.....:)
