Of my life without a heart?
Giving it away rendering me a lifeless soul.
For one will need their heart for caring and love,
But you end up caring and loving only the one who you give possession to.
The machine in which it makes of us,
Giving away our hearts,
Done so by pouring our heart into something,
And allowing it to be given away.

I'm always told to 'just move on' or 'find somebody else',
But she doesn't understand that it's only her I want,
Why does she torture me so much?

I lay in bed, wondering,
What I'd do if she was not of this world any longer,
If the darkness entombed her,
I'd follow suite, with haste,
Allow us to meet on the other side.

Had I never met her?
My life would be so much better,
So much for the worse however,
I have loved and lost that of which I never gained.

What is the use of losing a person,
Who has given you so much to care for?
I want to hate her so much,
So much it'd be better,
For hatred can replace love so snuggly
But it's never better for the heart,
Just the mental strain would be released.

If I could find a way to express my feelings through my words,
I'd still hide it deep within myself.
For I have changed for her, and for her I shall change again.
But fear of mine that this lay into the wrong hands,
For I would die on the inside finding out that she has no love for me.
Every day I die a little more,
Realisation hitting like a wrecking ball, as I slowly understands she doesn't love me.

This is us,
We are machines,
Ironically, we're a pair of bastards.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
