I remember the day the angel came to me
I explained I was too busy and to please let me be
The next week there appeared before me two
Brushing them off I told them I had far too much to do

A few weeks later a visit came from a group of ten
Insisting I listen, but I persuaded them to come back and we would talk then
I knew what they wanted, I understood the reason they were here
The time for my transformation was growing quite near

The following month I went to my favorite hiking trail
Half way down the path I detected their presence and I could tell
I turned to find a multitude angels waiting to take me home
My work here on Earth was done, no more paths to roam

As they escorted me to Heaven they explained that my mission was not complete
There are still so many lives that I need to touch, but not traveling by my feet
I had always knew this day was coming and tried to ease the pain
In your mind please have a thought of me each time you walk in the rain

I Love You.
Good-bye.

Beautifully written, D...
Seeing that we are experiencing a drought on our island, would thinking of you while in the ocean be ok??
Hugs...

I agree that this is beautiful and touching. Your words soar and there is so much feeling contained here. Refreshing and quite gorgeous this is.

take care

There seem to be so many levels of interpretations for the ending.

A mission that is not complete? Could it be that you would be reincarnated to come back to help others again? Could it be that this is a near death experience to tell you you're coming back to help and touch and help others? Or is it the ultimate promotion, and they have made you an angel too?

Whatever it is, it is a very intriguing, beautiful, yet sad poem. That finaly good-bye could bring tears to the person you're saying good-bye to.

Tim
