Array ( [sid] => 15836 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Silicon is not beauty [time] => 2003-04-12 14:45:00 [hometext] => spawned from the disgust i feel when watching others obsess about their looks. almost optimistic. how frightening. [bodytext] => anorexia, here to stay
watch my pretty doll decay
watch as your waist wastes away
no tomorrow, dead today

your nose too big, it spites your face
but sleeping pills will help erase
this life lived, lonely, in disgrace
vanity once again lays waste

your breasts too small, so you go see
a doctor with no Ph.D
he butchers you, but not for free
SILICON IS NOT BEAUTY

your hair too ratty, your eyes too small
you're so uncomfortable inside your own skin
but you should lighten up
for, though it is cliched,
true beauty comes from within

so cancel the ***** liposuction
put your make-up bag back on the shelf
stop obsessing, go out, have fun
and just be your ***** self

"waist wastes"

nice play on words. The first stanza is very strong in this poem. You paint a great picture thoughout the poem of the decaying doll. Good work.

Wow this is great. Wonderful twist of words. Makes a person think. You are very right. It would be wonderful if all of us could be happy with ourselves the way we are!! Thanks
Michelle

for many of us the beauty was stolen and the only way to have control of ourselves again....well somtimes it destroys us.......i'm sorry you had to see her go through that.......
