Just so that I can hear the message it carries.
I know it is there, I have heard it, I have felt it,
Yet I cannot seem to find it there.
I try to find the place where you go when you escape.
Is it a magical place that holds you and beckons for you to come home,
When the moment is daunting and you are afraid of the unknown,
or are you sometimes scared of being there for too long?

Do you ever lie awake at night and think about the stars,
Do you ever leave the corner of your mind to forget about this life;
Have you ever tried to name the place from where love comes,
Do you think that someone is listening to your silent whispers;
Or do you hide these questions in a box somewhere only you can find?

I try to imagine what I would hear if you could speak from your heart.
If you revealed its depths to me,
I think you may show me what you feel when you hold on tightly
But don’t say a word.
I think you could make me feel the fear you feel when you’re the first to pull away.
Perhaps you could make me see you as you are,
And know that I would accept you still.

Until then, when the great wind comes to me,
And I can hear its message out loud,
I will bare the questions in my own heart
And I will be unafraid to wait for you.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
