If I had to write a thousand words
To try and set you free
I'd write a poem about
What you mean to me
You make me feel so complete
You fulfil my needs
But when I know I can't be with you
It's my heart that bleeds
And so I stand alone forever more
Dreaming of the day you'd come knocking at my door
When I first saw your face
Your smile drew me close
But then I saw you with somebody else
That's what I feared the most
I thought I'd found that special one
For whom I really do care
But it seems someone has you
And that just seems unfair
So as I look out at the skies above
Please help me find the answer to this love

ahhh yes! There have been many a heart to fall this way.
You have worded well the pain and sadness involved.
