Love is a living breathing thing that desires to grow
A love kept under glass only has one direction to go
Sure it is pretty to look at and know that it is there
True love is a thing of beauty that two must share

To keep it sealed away under the glass
Will not preserve it as such and it will pass
I see you so perfectly because this glass is crystal clear
I shout “I Love You”, but through this barrier you do not hear

Understanding full well there are boundaries and limitations in place
Does your heart believe I would not want to touch your beautiful face?
Do you think this glass will allow love to survive?
How long do you think the feelings would stay alive?

There are emotions and thoughts that exist that I dare not tell
If I had to I could easily shatter this tomb-like shell
What I am asking for is the opportunity to be free and stand
Stepping forward daily with you, hand in hand

This is a gorgeous declaration, dw. Love is indeed something that needs to be able to breathe. It cannot and will not be contained! Beautiful conceptual piece from beginning to end. I especially adore the last stanza. Like a soft plea from a beating heart. Absolutely lovely.

I definitely hear what you're saying and have been there. If this is a true life story, I hope that she lets that glass lift and lets you in. Unfortunately, though, some never want to let the glass shatter.

Beautifully done. I think the emotion and the way the message was conveyed is most deserving of a chance.

Godspeed.

Tim
