The love that I have lost
Oh it seems like it was so long ago
The days, they drag on without release
Longing for the laughter, the sun that filled my life
Yet all I receive are months filled with strife
What was it that you whispered?
It seems so far away
Forgotten songs spoken that summer day
Try to open to the new
Gain experiences that I never had with you.
Attempt to cast the love away
Banish! Send it to some dark place
A corner in my heart where it may forever stay!
Waiting, waiting to be called back to that fateful June day
Maybe, if we are very quiet, we may hear
Little things, calling to us
Shouting! Commanding! Moving us near
To that thing, that infamous, flighty feeling
Once lost on that clear, that sunny, that damned day!
