Array ( [sid] => 159912 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => I had a talk with God today... [time] => 2010-05-17 13:26:17 [hometext] => I lost my Grandson Charlie to SIDS April 10th, 2010. He was only 4 months old. I sure miss him. [bodytext] => I had a talk with God today and asked him what was wrong.
Was it something Beth had said or done to take him from her arms?

He knew I came with anger yet, he let me say my peace.
I asked him why a thousand times until I couldn't speak.

You see, I'm just the Grandma but you've hurt my little girl.
All her life I've fixed the wrongs that life has dealt to her.

Her scuffs and scrapes I fixed and kissed and on her way she went.
But now I can't undo this pain that you so cruelly sent.

Why I asked, why now, why her, my patience growing thin.
What could I do to make this right and bring him back again.

He let me speak and whine and cry and forgave my choice of words.
And then when all was said and done, these words from him I heard.

I sent to Beth and Charles an Angel from my wing.
To bring him home with me again was not an easy thing.

It’s not my will to punish as you suggest it be.
My plan was most a generous one as time goes on they’ll see.

Some Angels stay a lifetime as Beth has been for you.
Others a day a month or more, with Charlie, quite a few.

I sent him here to touch the hearts of those I could not reach.
The loss of faith and hope in life, began to lose it’s strength.

The miracle as expected was the joy and love he gave.
The memories for a lifetime on this journey they’ll engrave.

I know the days now forward, will no less feel in vain.
The love and joy he gave to them will guide them once again.

The pain and grief and lonleness will take enormous time.
Yet time will heal the emptiness and peace once more they’ll find.

For a moment I was lost, my flock was minus one.
Now to my wing he has returned, the one that they called son.

Do not dispare dear Grandma, leave it in my hands.
There’s things I know that you can’t see, it’s all within life’s plan.

With them he spent his lifetime, he did not come to stay.
Please understand his work was done, now go in peace I say.

i love this poem, especially the presentation of God's words. you started 'carelessly' but when it was time for God to speak took an AA rhyme pattern making the words real and direct from God.
your poem is lovely
May the God you spoke to console you in his special way.
