Sitting here all alone
I'm in my world, I'm in the zone
I'm trying my best
To think up the next
Poem for you
I chew my pen as I'm fixed in thought
Do I feel content or do I feel distraught?
I'm pretty sure tonight
That I cannot write
A poem for you
It hurts me deep inside
But I hope that I will find...
I'm tired, I could fall asleep
My legs are sore and so are my feet
I won't let you down
But the words I haven't found
A poem for you
Something to eat
Something to drink
And then I'll have another think
When I take my seat
I think I've got the words that I seek
You've had to wait because I've taken my time
But I had to find all the words that rhyme
At last I can say
I've completed today
A poem for you
