Array ( [sid] => 160628 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => FREEDOM LOVING FAWN [time] => 2010-06-16 18:40:05 [hometext] => Ever see a new born fawn deer? They are usually hid by their mothers, but this one decides to go visiting with others! [bodytext] =>
Nature's ways are always best,
yet, sometimes in the scheme of
things, critters cause their
mothers much unrest!

In this caption, a brand new baby fawn just
hours old,
understands she is to remain hidden
without being told!
But, alas, like a curious little kitten
this little critter wants to make
new friends without caution

4 legs, brown, she's hungry, maybe it's "mommy"
venturing forth weakly, fearlessly, thirsty.
very inquisitive, and the horses don't seem
to mind, she's so tiny,
Not even the same size as the horse's head,
and very chummy!

Now that she's closer, she begins to question?
further examination, her senses ~sharpen~
then she begins to reason, (not really)
but makes for a good story.
"Looks like Mom, but my nose is telling me 'No'"
'Excuse me Sir, are you anyone I know?"

No milk available, she has to settle for grass.
this wee fawn, this brave little lass.
soon her real mother returns, and
all is well, deadlock impasse

I couldn't resist creating this poem
What a beautiful sight
Not one you see everyday
I had to write!

Ever hear of a "Yard Deer?"

Before moving to the country, I had never heard the term "yard deer."
When I lived in Colorado, a yard deer is a deer that comes
and visits, munches on stuff on your property, and becomes
a bit of a wild "pet."
People protect yard deer. Sometimes apples are left out for them.
There is an unwritten law that deer that come onto the property
of people are sort of sacred and untouchable. No one does them
harm and we all share these marvelous "pets," honored
by their trust in us, even if it is at a distance.

This is right down adorable, I love all animals and have such a soft spot for the deer and the horses. Adorable baby!

My grandmother had one she would let into the kitchen and feed it, it was amazing!

Loved the poem

Hugs
Michelle
