Dressed in my soiled, torn rags
Showing off my worthlessness
Holding my sins, to many to count
Wanting to be free from my rags
But I can't, I can't throw them off
No eloquence needed just those two words
The words of a failure, a coward

My rags flap in the breeze
Whipping around my skinny frame
Lugging around my sack,
My sack of unshed tears
Wearisome trudging along each
Hopeless, dreary, ***** mile
Sunburnt, skin raw and blistering
I can't continue this charade, this joke

Take out a razor
Search for that perfect vein
Watch as the blood spatters
Onto the cobbled streets
Watch as I do the best thing
I've done in years
I can't throw off these rags
And I can't continue on [comments] => 4 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 32 [informant] => bobotheclown [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

((JOEL)) all too many times i hoped one of my poems had as much as an impact on anyone as this one did to me...
"Wanting to be free from my rags
But I can't, I can't throw them off" I very much relate to those 2 lines... beautifully done...
