Sense I've tasted that false reality
I've never been the same
It created a new me and altered my mind
I no longer have constant words
Scraping at the hollow spaces in my head
Thoughts stumble through my mind with
The beautiful grace of poetry laced with every word
But those never match the outcome of my tongue
Failing to capture what once was a masterpiece
A disgrace punishable by silence
Words unspoken echo in the ears of everyone
A wallflower scared to share a personal emotion
I've become unsatisfied with reality
Because it's not as good
Colors seem duller, emotions aren't enhanced
Thought patterns are sadder and life doesn't feel right
My mind is addicted to a reality so false
We all know it's wrong to stay in that place
But without it I feel more like who I used to be
Because I've got nothing else
And I thought I laid that person to rest
Disappointing, for sure
But what can I do when that's what I want
To have my mind lost up in the skies
Feeling so great with the best outlook on life?
