Array ( [sid] => 16226 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Hating This Fragile World [time] => 2003-04-19 10:05:00 [hometext] => This poem identifies four things everyone beleives they are entitled to in life. These four things, however, have been reshapened into a snare for fools. We are all caught eventually. [bodytext] => I
In this fragile world
There is love
There is honesty
There is compassion
And there is long life

II
Love is the fruit of morality
Blood is the proof of brutality
Here we cling to crumpled dreams
And try to forget that raped girl's screams
And we fight to believe that love conquers all
While we're beginning to fall
Into the hell of insanity
This is love

III
Honesty loves ignorance
And truth preys upon lies
And a boy in this nieve world cries
As happiness dies in his eyes
And the trust he had leaves
Cause it's torn and it bleeds
Since his mom has been gone
She killed herself on his lawn
And this is honesty

IV
Compassion is
Because suffering exists
And is generated by those who persist
In making more money, more power
As Power sits on a thrown
And it glowers as those
Who believed its clean prose
It claims that beggars got what they chose
This is compassion

V
Long life says its always loved life
And the war and the strife
And the fear in the ear
Of the widow who has nothing
But long life to live out
With more loniless, and a bout
Of desire for death
And its comforting breath
This is long life

VI
So if compassion is pain
And love is insane
And honesty breeds long life
That joy is deriven
From a world thats given
Only pain and terror
And torment and strife [comments] => 8 [counter] => 406 [topic] => 13 [informant] => uncooked [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Great poem. Telling life like it is. No hiding it's falseness.

Wow, I'm amazed at the truth in this poem. The only that comes to mind is EXCELLENT. I hope to read more from you.

Please, if you are realy into this subject, read my poem "Superior?"

I think it shows that life is what you make it.
