That way if I ever needed not to feel an emotion,
I can swim to the other side.
Unfortunately feelings do exist at the side of a lake.
They circulate, drift with the water, and find you despite the
Distance.

I wish feelings existed at the bottom of the stairs
That way if I ever needed an escape,
I can always pass them and climb up.
Unfortunately feelings do exist at the bottom of the stairs.
No matter how far up you climb, you must come back
Down.

I wish feelings existed at the tip top of the tallest trees
That way if I ever wanted to avoid them,
I can just never look up.
Unfortunately feelings do exist in trees.
Winter brings about barren trees that hide
Nothing.

I wish feelings existed in the dirt.
That way if I ever needed to overcome them,
I can just stomp my feet.
Unfortunately feelings do exist in the dirt.
No matter how hard you stomp, the traces stay with
You.

I wish I could forget or run away.
I wish feelings were something easily outmaneuvered.
I wish they existed everywhere but within.
Unfortunately they exist everywhere AND within.

Don’t run. Face

Wow. I think that was amazingly written.
It's true. We can't run away from our feelings or problem. We have to stand and face them. That kinda gave me a new perspective on things. Awesome job!

Great job! I loved this. The title grabbed me, the body of the poem is honest and the point is both clear and succinct. I really enjoyed this poem.

I understand a little how you feel... I wish I didn't have to go through the pain of losing a person dear to me... It would be great if we could escape the sadness and in my case the anger of that loss... (because i wasn't allowed leave to go to the funeral)
