Array ( [sid] => 162828 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Where do you start [time] => 2010-10-19 10:57:37 [hometext] => A poem I wrote for my fathers funeral. Just wanted some input. Thanks [bodytext] => Where do you start?

Do you start at the beginning where you first met?
Do you start with the lessons or the morals he set.
Are the good times the story, the laughter each day?
Or the sad and the bad times we tried to replay?

Is the start in the middle when you challenged his ways.
Becoming the person he taught through quiet praise.
Can the tough love be all that we need to get by.
Or is it hard work and courage he showed us to try.

The end is a start that we seldom think through.
All the things that we wished that we all got to do.
In the end there is hope that we follow to the letter.
To know in or our hearts he did make us better.

My start will be now as I take on the part.
To be like my father who is forever in my heart.
I will start teaching the lessons he learned and taught me.
My hope is I become all he wanted me to be. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 289 [topic] => 48 [informant] => thejack [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
