Nights I spend shivering beside the lamp

I can hear them whispering to each other

These glass confrontations open my eyes

Broken hearts haunting one earning its scar

Private scenes lure a reality I smile to hide

Choosing to ignore spells of our past serenity

They now applaud my torment with flames

A young man growing old in the face of forgiveness

Curtains tease leaving me alone to reenact this dream

They now Applaud my torment with flames, the depth of expressiveness in each and every line is like a knife drawing across skin to draw blood and ultimately to leave an indelible scar, there are all the ingredients for leaving a person in torment
tortured thoughts, mistrust, brokenness, hidden pain, mocking, hopelessness and abandonment,
great poetry from a continuing very talented writer x

It's well written but I just can't relate to it.
Must be a level of emotion I just can't relate to either in
itself or in the phrasing.
Either way, I must say well done.

This passage somehow with it's imagery
brought to me a collage of emotion in my 30 plus years
like I had yet to experience
a mixture of mystique, sorrow, remorse, and something more chilling
which I'm not quite familiar with
well crafted by one of an elite stature
