Array ( [sid] => 16430 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Thankful Eyes [time] => 2003-04-23 02:35:00 [hometext] => When I was 17, I was going to sing Christmas carols...The accomplishment of our group was larger than we knew...Every word is true... [bodytext] => It lasted fifteen minutes
I was in a rush
Heading through the halls
Of a dreary nursing home
In attempt to brighten days
Of a few lost souls
During the holidays
A feeble utterance
Reached my ears
"Help me," was the strained plee
The voice from a little lady
Also in a hurry
To hear the cheerful singing
Of a small group
Accomplishing more than they knew
I stopped to realize
Her feet could hardly carry
This tired body
Weathered by the days
Spent roaming these lonely halls
I took her arm as we walked on
No longer caring if I was late
We finally reached our destination
With no time to spare
But this now tired lady
Needed to settle into a chair
I held her hand as she lowered her hips
Unheard words parted her lips
Nothing said in voice
Her eyes softened
And loneliness faded
As a heartfelt thank you
Streamed down her cheeks
I walked to the front of the crowd
Singing loud and proud
And was nearly overwhelmed
By what I witnessed next
Forty eyes danced along
With the same unheard thank you
Taking the lead
From a little lady

I really enjoyed reading that, it shows that you don't always have to do alot for someone to appreciate it. Keep writing.
