What colors your world, sends brush to canvass?
Nothing specific, but what's inside us.
Read each line, and decide for yourself. Then
Meet me at "Fine", and say how you felt.

A morning, so clear, regardless of season.
A kiss on the cheek for no earthly reason.
A baby's smile when she looks in your eyes.
A child leaves for school and shares your goodbyes.

The colors, so far, do they come to mind?
They're not always pleasant, as you'll soon find.

An animal, beaten, looms at your door.
Lovers so angry, they are no more.
Women and children, so bloodied and lost.
Soldiers returning, rememb'ring the cost.

The colors, so far, do they come to mind?
It's better, read on, if you're so inclined.

A hug so warm it should last forever.
Success at a task or life's endeavor.
A warm cup o' cocoa on Christmas Eve.
The hearts of lovers; one got a reprieve.

All of these visions, the good and the bad,
All of these feelings, both happy and sad,
Propel my brush to swirl in fury, or
Placidly glide in passioned obscur'ty.

Did you decide? Can you see my plight?
Colors have nothing to do with my sight.
I fill a canvass with what's in my heart,
A sound from my soul that yearns to impart.

What colors YOUR world, your brush to canvass?
Say what you will, but it's what's inside us.
