For the things I've done and the hearts I've bruised,
For the times I thought I had nothing to lose,
The mistakes I've made and the advice I disregarded,
Ignored the plans you'd made and left you broken hearted.
Been selfish, ignorant and a troublesome child,
Thoughtless and distant, adrift in the wild.
The scars I've left you will hopefully heal,
Black, red and blue is the pain that you feel.
My mind is a poison, a chemical bath,
A T.V without noise on, a pitiful laugh.
I will try to rectify the wrongs that I've wrought,
The pain I will pacify, and the shame that I've brought. Time marches on, and hindsight is almost always 20/20. I think this write it rather brilliant. The rhythm and rhyme structure work quite well, and everyone's at one time or another seeked a fair bit of forgiveness for stupid things we did way back when. Rally a fine penning here. tfs

A wonderful open and honest write that would definitely melt a mother's heart, best gift for mother's day I reckon.

How... deep. You almost made me cry and to be honest that is saying something. I like 'My mind is a poison, a chemical bath' but it is not true, everyones mind has both good and bad parts. Sorry to lecture, I really like the poem anyway.
