People sit, children slumber.
After Sunset, mysterious time,
Birds in trees, squirrels in pine.

After Sunset, woodsmoke burns,
Creatures stir, lovers yearn.
After Sunset, come the stars,
Over the ocean, Venus and Mars.

After Sunset, before the dawn,
I will venture, kill the yawn.
After Sunset, the sun will sleep,
The stars will dance, the moon will creep.

After Sunset, Van Gogh did paint,
After Sunset, when light was faint.
After Sunset, I watched you go,
After Sunset, my tears did flow.

After Sunset, tis a magical time,
Lest your heart is sore like mine.
After Sunset, I watched you go,
After Sunset, I miss you so.

I miss you. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 215 [topic] => 27 [informant] => Natkingcole [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )

It starts off painting such a pretty, serene picture. Then you get to the bottom and - ouch, the heartache. It is hard to miss someone.

You phrased it very nicely.

This is beautiful and the ending so touching. That is the time it rests near the heart the most once the sun is sinking in the sky. It is indeed hard on the heart to miss someone. Beautiful poem

I bet that your sunset poem could get me peace by touching like velvet as in your poem I have met divine joy due to nice emotional outlet and I owe you a debt which this comment will offset.
