I walked out into the yard to let it go
And watched as it took flight.
I've never stopped loving you,
I've lain awake thinking so many nights
Of all the shoulda-couldas that would've been,
Had it not been for your mother's decision.
You were to be my little girl,
But before you even got to live,
She took you away.
I've loved you since you were conceived,
And I'll love you 'til I die.
Just know in my heart I'll always hold you,
We'll be each other's lullaby. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 313 [topic] => 65 [informant] => solmyr1404 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => toughstuff )

I have never understood how a mother could do that to her child. It is really an example of fear winning over love.

I wish you the best and I hope that your daughter is happy.

choice can be a curse. Lack of choice can release redemption for other sins that remain unknown by the many.
The truth is known but rarely spoken, for it hurts too much.
The fact is that it is rare for guilt to be unshared in these circumstances. To blame the other party entirely is the easiest choice. Maybe you are right. Either way, you got me thinking. Good write.

Abortion is the worst form of child abuse. That's all I've got to say on that.

Great poem. I could seriously feel your pain. Nicely written.

On a warm day sitting reading this, I felt a cold shiver run right down my spine for the pain you must have suffered.
I'm sorry for what you have had to endure.
