It doesn't bother me anymore though. As long as the words mean something to you I'm happy. [bodytext] => And you twist in your head
The words that you’ve read
Going over the lines that I’ve written

What I try to uncover
And the thing you discover
Appears unmistakingly different

But you sought out these words just to read me
Feel free to look for whatever you’ll find
Because we’ll all glance within our perspectives
And I’m honored that you took the time

And if my words spoke any light on the darkness
Then my translation’s a small price to pay
I just wanted the reader to smile
I just wanted to brighten your day [comments] => 3 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 21 [informant] => scottstone [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

I appreciate your gratitude toward the fellow reader. I too have trouble with my poetry being interpreted the way I planned it. However, as someone commented, perhaps only the author truly understands their own poem. God bless you and take care,
Deidra

I've always thought that there are often two sides to a poem, the side that the writer looks at and the side that the reader looks at.
As long as it conjures up some feeling, be it inspiration or good feelings or any other emotion then it surely has achieved its goal
