Stranger
Youve been invited to a party
Youd love to go
But you only know one person
Youre that stranger at the party that nobody knows
You can be anyone you like
Youre an enigma
What if they hate you?
What persona should you adopt, when the approach and say hello?
You smile and say your name
You could say a different name to them all
Hi, Im John, hi, they call me Banjosandwitch
Hi, my name is Gary, hello, Dave please to meet you
Watch the confusion and smile
You are a deranged, deviant
The party crasher

| This is a colossal poem -- what a Thing! I love it. And I totally identify with it -- having been a Stranger all my life. Yes sir, I have about 5 pseudonyms -- of which Flint Hunter is one; but all my names have personal meaning. Anyhow this poem struck me down -- it punched me right in the guts. I think it is a singular -- and very very insightful -- song. Great! --FlintHunter |
