Indeed Eve was not created for this
She serves and loves while her pay in return
Is her partner's chauvinist jokes and remarks
"thank God I'm not a woman" he says
After all he doesn't have to endure what God
Intended for the good of both persons
How dare a man insult a woman and her kind
At the same time claiming he loves her oh so much
Fellas remember this piece of advice for it is true
Everything a girl does and is was created for you
For you to be thankful for and treat gently

All of this is true
no woman should be treated any less
because she is a women

for everyone

First of all, thank you for you kind comments on my poems.
Now: "Eve Was Not Created For This" is a fantastic poem that everyone should read -- especially women who are in circumstances like you describe in your poem. I recommend it, of course, for men as well, but the kind of man who treats Eve like that isn't going to read it -- let alone change his piggish attitude. I am a man who knows the true value of women -- and who knows who is rather envious of whom...
I end with a joke:
Q: Why are women better than men?
A: Because God created a man first and THEN He created a woman; in other words, He had practice.

P.S. I know God is not a "man" but write according to convention for simplicity. It would be too clumsy to say 'She' -- it would interrupt the flow. And 'He or She' is equally --if not more -- disconcerting.
If I had so done with the little joke, e.g.,
Q: Why are women better than men?
A: Because God created a man first and THEN He or She created a woman; in other words, He or She had practice.
I understand the problem but bow to convention as per Strunk and White (The Elements of Style).

I agree with you that sexism is a problem with a lot of men, and so many women take the abuse and don't do anything. Some are even attracted to abuse. I've never understood people like that, but maybe its because they have just never known anything different.
And then I see time and time again a woman leaving a good man to go be with a jerk. I don't understand that and I never will, even if I do accept it as human nature at this point. |

I am a retired law Enforcement Officer who is also a Christian. I wanted to shoot so many
Jerks in the hands for the abuse they brought on women who loved them. I try to think of all women as somebody's little girl, because I realize the tremendous love I have for my own daughter. What amazes me about the women who are abused? They get so fearful of retaliation, that a large percentage of women file waivers of prosecution and set the bums free from jail. I tried to understand that from a woman's perspective, and it made me want to beat these men to a pulp so they would get to feel what true abuse was like!
