selfstruggles

I have an immense will to explore but I am kept by a chain in a desolate room barking wont help me behind this locked door I am alone, self-doubting, in a world that is gloom Frantically exploring, in search of a purpose in the dark But always I end in my day in the fetal position crying I can't find any reason to keep trying I've lost my spark
Restrained by the lessons of years Drained by the futility of my tears Wish there was way But nothing helps me Can't get out from here Doesn't matter what I do or say I realized long ago that there is no key I am locked till the day I disappear

'My State of Mind' is a sad poem -- yet it breathes; and that very breathing gives it -- and you -- life. Sometimes things look hopeless... but then something happens and it's like the sun rising. I bet you'll be writing a poem about sheer joy soon.
Regardless, even out of your painful state of mind came a fine poem -- and, more important, you are able to express your feelings clearly. An honest poem -- full of untapped strength.
