Just leave my thoughts but not my presence
Can such logic be used to set me free
From the captivity of two masters
Tell me why does it hurt to make such a hard decision

Should you really leave me now that our Golden Age has ended
Our spark has faded and our power has declined
Shall I take up with another alliance
He seems promising yet I am quite sentimental
I'll admit to choose one renders unto me a plethora of pain

Fortunately I have not yet been banished or overthrown
By my subjects, advisors, and friends
Thankfully I hold tight to the relationships I can count on
The unsinkable ship of friendship that shall pull me through
Perhaps my adversaries shall guide me to how I will decide
And in time I will have an answer to why it hurts

Great write, my friend.

How long sway ye between two opinions? The
heart wants what it wants, and often doesn't
let our mind know where our confusion comes
from. I have been there along with you my
friend. Peace in the journey and the finding!

why do you have to choose, when you can be yourself, don't stop believing in yourself, because when you do, your heart and your mind will cloud your soul then that start "why does it hurt",
"Believe in Yourself and You Will Conquer Everything" and when you do believe then that's time you will find your answer to your question "Why does it hurt".... nice and beautiful poetry...
