sitting here,
lost in fear
like a frightened lamb..

The howl of the night,
the sounds of wanderings,
how is it as i am cowering
that they were truly right?

My pain and sorrow,
my heart broken in spite,
I knew yet I still write
those stories as I wallow..

I see myself and think,
why must this be me,
why can't it be he
who is gone with a blink.

He haunts me in my dreams,
then he finds me cowering
in his empty wanderings
where the sun does not beam.

Cowering against my fears,
he found me lying on the floor,
like none before,
for me he fears..

Why does he cry,
he was there and left me,
yet he comes back, how can this be,
his tears haunt me, he tries..

He whispers my name,
why would he try to save me,
I ask him why this can be,
he says," I was stupid and I am to blame."

I lay confused,
he dabs my eyes,
he says, " I'm sorry for all the lies."
My heart broken and bruised.

"I love you",
his whisper barely i hear,
sliding down his face, a single tear,
I cry, "I love you, too."

I don't really know what to say about this poem but nevertheless I could'nt stop reading it until the end which means only one thing. The writing was good. It captures you and makes you want to go along for the ride. Thats what good writing does I guess. Keep it up , truly , Doug
