You could have stayed

When will your voice fade?
Your every facial expression?
Will I loose the hope you always gave me?
It has only been a month and I'm already lost without you.
This house is to loud and filled with memories. They strangle my every thought. This house should be filled with laughter and love.
But now it's just empty and painful reminder of your death.
No one seems to care about finding your little white hairs every where.
I see you waiting for us to walk through the door ,as you have for seventeen years....
couldn't you have waited for eighteen years? twenty? thirty?
I could have lived with you ,like we talked about; made you eat, take your medicine.
I could have kept you happy, busy, and away from death.
You were here for so long, you did so much, meant so much.
But if you stayed longer you would've learned just how important you were.
To me, to my daughter.....she will never know the great grandmother that wanted to meet her so badly.
