Array ( [sid] => 169845 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A couple of my short, standalone stanzas [time] => 2012-01-01 21:23:42 [hometext] => I've written these over the past year or so. these are some of my favorites [bodytext] => Screaming and falling to the ground
She holds in every audible sound
She doesnt even speak a word
She knows it will never be heard.

She sits and entertains herself silently
Her parents still fighting rather violently
She knows better than to draw attention
Staying silent is self preservation

Silence falls when the darkness rises
Pain and betrayal wear many guises.

Don't ask me how I am
Or inquire about my plan
I just need to be left alone
To hear the cries that are my own

Swallow the pain
Evict the tears
Release the brain
Expel the fears

Why do they tell me
To always survive
When in reality
I was never alive

What is it about you
That makes me think you're true
What is it that you do
That makes me feel brand new

When you touch my hair
When I look into your eyes
It's like you steal my air
It's like I'm hypnotized

Tell me what you want from me
Tell me what you want to see
Tell me what to give to you
Tell me what you want to do

I speak and no one hears me.
I cry and no one sees me.
I leave and no one misses me.
Do you notice me??

All the memories dancing in my head
All of what was never said
Take me back to that place
So I can undo, not just erase

I scream
so only you can hear me
but you
are nowhere to be found.
I scream
without making a sound. [comments] => 0 [counter] => 67 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Ciera1423 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
