The line that has become the title is the one which stands out the most to me, though I'm pretty sure ravens don't cry, and if they did, they wouldn't cry blood. [bodytext] => Amidst the dark fog that is my heart,
There is not a single glimps of light.
But merely cloud in every direction
Making it so very hard to see.
I wonder, briefly, if I'm unique,
As society dictates that we all are,
But in reality we all conform
To other's ideals and personalities.
And so many of us are desperately drowning
Lost to a world thinking only of itself,
And we can't find a way out.

And after everything we do,
Is anyone truly ever happy?
Or do we pretend to the outside world,
Creating a circle of eternal deception.
A drop of blood, like a raven's tear,
In the pool of indefinite lonliness,
Not special, no ambition, lost and helpless
And no one seems to understand.
Happiness is lost to the days of the past
Now we all settle for content.
And even that has become hard to find.

At the heart of everything what do we have?
Love is nothing but never-ending pain
And pain is what makes us feel real
And love makes us want to die
When it should be what we're living for.
The world has made it too hard to survive
Without being corrupted or submitting
When we really should be free of things
Like prejudice and hatred and rape
Because we're all the same yet completely different.
Which really makes us all the same. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 197 [topic] => 13 [informant] => pocketsizedwolf [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

haha that is some depressing stuff you have there :) you should take a ride on the wild side. Life can be a thrill if you want it to be. Just get up... reach for the doorknob, and don't come back home until your blood is pumping and you feel like your world is upside down. :) Push the limit... You get the idea.

I understand where you are coming from though :p originality is dying with the masses, but that doesn't mean that what you create is any less meaningful.

I love this poem :) very deep. Obviously it made me think.
