Array ( [sid] => 1729 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Who I Should Be [time] => 2002-08-04 20:27:02 [hometext] => I wrote this poem about 4 or 5 years ago. it's no where near my best.... but I still like it. [bodytext] => I'm just sitting here
in a bar somewhere
near the middle of nowhere.

Just wiating there
for my maiden fair
with her emerald eyes and fiery hair.

As I think aloud
while I wonder how
I could just get close to her.

Should I play the clown
and try to steal her frown
or would that just bother her.

Or maybe I should try
to play the tough guy
and defend her honor.

or whip out my guitar
and act like a big star
and write a song for her.

Or mabe I shopuld just be myself
and tell her how I feel for her.
Yeah, mabe I should be myself.
But what if she just laughed at me?
No... I'd rather be someone else.

But now I'm sitting here
staring at my beer
and wondering where to go from here.

Because I've tried to be
someone else but me
and it's gotten me nowhere.

But now it's time
I made up my mind
and decided who I'll be

Cause I can be myself
or maybe someone else
But which one will I be?

Maybe I should be someone else,
and let her think I'm something I'm not.
Yeah, mayge I should be someone else.
But what if she saw right through me?
No... this time I'm gonna be myself! [comments] => 1 [counter] => 150 [topic] => 31 [informant] => Cypher [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 2 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )
