Array ( [sid] => 173201 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Masked Stranger [time] => 2012-06-28 12:45:52 [hometext] => This is dedicated to a friend who means everything to me. They are everything I've ever wanted to be. Thank You. [bodytext] => My reputation is put before others, you could call me prideful
Don’t even realize who it bothers, far from insightful
Insults coming from left to right, seems as if it’s a natural instinct
So natural that I don’t even think twice, sometimes I don’t even think

Clashing personalities and different tastes, means no common ground
Eye-opening realities are a total waste, so friendship can’t be found
Stubborness and ignorance fall into place, making progression absent
Words go through one ear and out the other, too bad there’s no traffic

The chance to get to know someone is out of the question, small steps barely even matter
Quality time may be a good suggestion, but I’m still gonna climb the ladder
I’m gonna climb ‘til I get to the top, trying my very best not to look down
There will be times where I want to stop, maybe there’s no need to make a sound

But something inside of me wants to do the right thing, I’m not a fan of opposition
Hate and jealousy is what it brings, no matter the situation
It’s time to take a stand and try to not fall, no more wasting time
It’s time to tell my story once and for all, guess I have to cross the line

It all started on a Sunday afternoon, a young girl walks through the doors
Of the church, Sacrament meeting was soon, so she had to ignore
The increasing nerves building up inside of her, not having an idea what was next
Who knew once she sat down, being unsure, her life would be put to the test

Being apart of a new program was terrifying, new people were stationed at every corner
The thought of being a young adult was petrifying, but she just couldn’t be a loner
Moments later she saw someone who had it all, perfection was just the beginning
It was as if you stepped in the Taj Mahal, their personality was just gleaming

Everyone loved that person, they were so well liked, it was hard to comprehend
The young girl felt unknown, as small as a pint, she thought she hit a dead end
So the young girl just turned against that person, no reason given whatsoever
She wanted to go ahead and jump on the bandwagon, but something wouldn’t let her

Now comes the point where she needs to decide, try to rebuild what was once there
Let go of the arrogance and the pride, she has to show how much she can care
It’s gonna take both time and precision, she needs to get herself together
Jealousy completely fogged her vision, it’s time to change the weather

How is it that one person can change your perspective, they can even change your heart
They can turn you into calm and collective, you knew that from the very start
When you’re with them all you get is butterflies, you can call that the botanical garden
There has to be more than hi’s and byes, her heart is beginning to soften

I’m down to my last breath and last final words, I guess it’s time to admit
That I’ve grown to love this person, I’m a fan of nerds, and I will never quit
Some days it’ll seem that I am trapped in the closet, strapped and hooked on a hanger
It’s time to take the mask off once and for all, and stop being a stranger

A stunning poem with so much to say. Guess we have that one person whom we wish we could really be like.
