I'm finding it hard to sleep
I lay down, close my eyes
and begin counting sheep
What is wrong with me
My eyes just won't stay closed
Let's count sheep again
Look! there one goes
One lonely sheep
I saw it jump over the moon
Then the weirdest thing happened
A dish ran away with a spoon
Sheep and moons, dishes and spoons
I don't know how this all began
But counting sheep isn't easy
When you only find one in the clan
As I lay here looking for sheep
I look at the clock and see that thirty minutes has passed
Then I wondered what happened to all the sheep
Just how long will this desertion of sheep last
Come on, I need to get some sleep
But I can't until the sheep come back
Mr. Shepherd Boy please help me
Get the sheep back on the right track
Bring then back my way
So I can count their little heads
Then maybe when I reach one hundred
I will fall asleep in bed
Look, I see one
He just jumped in the lake
Maybe the shepherd boy made a mistake
Hey, there is another one
He jumped in the lake too
Oh boy, I'll never get to sleep
If this is all that they do
Mr. Shepherd Boy
What did you do to my sheep
Fix then and send them home
I really want to sleep
I want to count their heads
As they walk throught the gate
By the time that they ALL make it home
I won't be able to sleep because it will be too late
I'll leave the gate unlocked
When they are ready, they can walk right in
All this looking for sheep wears me out
Hey look, it is five O'clock again. . . [comments] => 1 [counter] => 216 [topic] => 7 [informant] => unpredictable [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )
