and ponder for a time,
Let the coldness settle in,
and sink into your mind,

Hold past romance... within in your hand,
don't let it fly... away,
think of all that never was,
and in that moment... stay,

Never let the past deny,
these urges deep... so true,
come let love melt your heart again,
there is so much to lose,

love is to risk... to live again...
your heart must freeze once more,
and return back to better times,
upon love's frozen shore,

for only frozen hearts can melt,
love's fire blazes strong,
for if you never freeze yourself,
love's fire will be gone,

For when your heart does finally melt,
there is no last restraint,
you must return to find your heart...
upon that frozen plain. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 179 [topic] => 2 [informant] => deusdeira [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Great topic to write about and what a great starting line, so difficult for our human side to let go of things of the past cathartic and empathic writing needed for healing,

Love has a funny way of playing tricks. Often it sends you a couple of potentials. Just so it can set you up with the true one at the end. Great, great writing!

Loved the opening line and I share your sentiment.
You cannot let the past dictate the future, I agree on that wholeheartedly!!
Well written

Steve
