cold as stone,
in a cruel world all alone,
I thought death would be
my final remedy..

I was heading straight towards the darkness,
prayed the heavens, 'give me some answers'.
Then you pulled me back in to the light,
you made my world again seem right,
with your respect for life, humanity,
your peaceful smile it sets me free..

At start I had my doubts, I confess.
'Is this too good to be true,
will I eventually forget you..'
But deep in heart I knew,
you're not another temptress..

Well I don't know where this path takes me to,
but it surely can't be bad, when I can share it all with you.
This connection between you and me,
in it's divine beauty,
something I thought, I could never see..

When I look deep in your eyes,
I see no hatred, I see no lies,
I see only love that's pure,
and I believe, I believe it will
endure..

I guess fate did interfere,
but in the end it was up to you and me,
the harmony of two human beings,
angel of life,

Something I was not I tried to be,
cold as stone,

I thought death would be

I enjoyed reading this, don't worry about what's technical and what's not. You definitely put your emotions into words and that's what counts. I'm glad the story had a nice conclusion, make sure you hold on to that special person!
