that someone such as I
could be living in the moment
of an everlasting lie

the dreams they've all been shattered
disappearing from my sight
although I am still hanging on
& trying with all my might

I have not once cheated
in any kind of way
but something deep inside of me
says it's the words she's gonna say

I pledged loyalty to my marriage
with all I have inside my heart
I never thought Loyalty
would pull my world apart

if you felt a quiver inside your heart
well trust me so did I
now you see why I am living in
an everlasting lie

when you tell your love you love her
it's not all you have to do
we all must learn to show it
show the love you have so true

if you miss your chance with these words
to find a way to show it
you can bet that I missed mine
& I'm the hot shot poet
