sitting in contemplation... with thoughts of dreams gone,

Sliding hands through dew-drop grass... slowly,
needing to feel... wanting to feel something... anything,

a golden glow washes over the concrete and obscures imperfection...
bathing the world in vague beauty as blemishes hide... unobserved,

Touch and feel and smell are extended beyond simple sensation,
surrounded by darkness, eyes closed, fresh scent of rain,

wishing it would never end... never recede to the light,
but yet somehow still missing the light... missing the imperfection,

I wonder... how can a world so beautiful... be the source of so much pain. Have never sat in the wet grass at night not caring about the wet or cold but have done plenty of other things in the grass at night. ;-)

Love the poem, especially that last line summing up the paradox of the world we live in.

Thanks,

Tim

No, I have never sat in wet grass, lol. But, I do love this poem, and strangely...feel connected to it. It is very good, keep writing! (:

I liked this - we say give it a bump, like we mean a lot of things, but I say you have a wonderful sentimentality

Thanks for a real sharp poem, not random or vague.

Peace!

Very well written and certainly something I can wrap my arms and mind around.
