What should a simple human do?

Contributed by Aledos on Sunday, 27th January 2013 @ 01:09:57 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Two eyes, two ears, two legs and two arms,
Two sides of each man, but it is all meant to form a One.
Dark and light, a night and a day,
Good and evil, the way of God you follow or to the fallen Angel of Music you pray?

The balance in life will also take a man after his days,
Up to the Heaven or down to the flame.
Pain, drugs, and abuse that all smell and have texture like rust,
Or compassion, love and purity are a must?

We are so simple of creatures that is even hard to drop completely on one side,
Good and Evil, both reside in us all and like foot soldiers in open field they collide.
The biggest battle is fought in this small soul.
Because every inch of ground in this battle, can mean a man’s happiness or an eternal fall.

Two ears hear different, two eyes see contraries,
Two arms reach for opposites and two legs lead to different passageways.
Pour a glass of liquor, light a joint, rest your head, close your eyes and pray,
that you will wake up with Gods graciousness for at least one more day.

Okay, the note: Good job, Blessings, emy was funny to me. As for the poem itself, I like the idea of it, what you're conveying. It's not lost poetry, but lost on me. What I mean to say is that, I myself am not a religious person. Of course when i say this, I don't specifically mean in terms of consideration of a source for existence, even thought he universe, if always existing is in fact a source, but that's irrelevant. The doctrine of religion I can't follow. I'd be more than happy to accept a god as my own, if for whatever reason it spoke to me as truth, but I think the idea of God is lost on so many people. In my own personal interpretation, God would be SO loving, SO forgiving, that he realizes your faults. He realizes that you are flawed, handicapped, and human. By being given instinct, you are given a sense of selfishness, beit subconscious or not. No matter what happens in your lifetime, in death you are no longer plagued by your handicaps, illnesses, jaded thoughts or brainwashed life. You finally, if still capable of thought, think more clear than you could've ever imagined. You know what was wrong, and you know why. You've learned through life, and you've learned through death, and that is why, if heaven exists, EVERYTHING will be forgiven. At least that's what I trust, and believe would be, were God to exist, and if he exists. I don't believe he does, but I don't believe he doesn't, and in the end, it doesn't matter, but I hope that if he does, he understands, and above all, forgives.

And now I realize I totally didn't make any commentary on the poem. haha.
Parts of it I think make sense, and parts of it are stemming from a point of religion I can't agree with, but then again the quality of your poem shouldn't be if I agree with it or not. I almost agree that if it really is the case, morality is one of the biggest battles there are.

I really do like the poem but as I said before it is inappropriate to be asking for comments when you yourself do not read or comment on other authors at this site. They too appreciate the feedback. Doesn't really make sense, does it?

Thanks,

Tim
