As they stream upon a wide road
Escaping to a place I’ve never seen before

I just want to live fast and dream slow
Let’s streak right through this sleepy town
Past the normal lives in those small and dreary houses

Amongst sandy beaches to the peaks beyond
Turn on the radio and roll the windows down
Breathe in the air and let your soul fly where it wants to go

The sun can pick the destination
For this permanent vacation
And if the wheels still spin we're never going home
Our hearts can sing upon the open road

Road Trip, and ain't they the best, when you don't know where you're going or just where you'll get.
Dreaming, daring, shouting, quiet time, boredom at it's most pronounced peak; then whoa...the totally unexpected happens and almost exactly at the same time you and everyone with you knows it without saying a damn thing.
Thanks for the memories. Bob Hope.
Nice poem dude! Thanks for making me remember times when we'd put in a few bucks each for gas, and it'd get us a long way down the road --- the adventure/fun was getting there.
Best times --- stinky ones, hungry, cold, stuck, stranded, then glory be, at least for me, the pristine shores of lake Superior.
Keep writing! This topic deserves at least a couple hundred million more.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
