This battered vessel struggles so, can't sell or steal A tide to wash the soul from the grasp of the reef This voice still holds a song, a song you'll never hear Winter's eyes are open and now the wind won't let me sleep I remember feeling warmth when my hands retraced your spine There's certain glory in losing things that we were never meant to find
Who will win in the end? Who will hold the defenses? Does anyone at all? We all search for a reason to try and stay the same But we wake up in our rooms where the walls are turning gray And the candles hold a flame, a flame that burns down slow Watching the shadows flickering and silent in their code I'm boarding up the doors to try and keep myself locked in The night will never pass and to this day it never did
The future always waits for us What will the future make of us?
I've been dangling from this rope for so long that it's burned my hands I broke the seventh seal along that mountain pass I'd never known much more than your voice and taste Laid down on the floor, and we died face to face
