Array ( [sid] => 176133 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Shade of the Forest [time] => 2013-05-24 06:40:44 [hometext] => It seems that lately i am incapable of creating something i deem beautiful, and so i give my musings instead. If emotion is life, then perhaps i am dying inside, for i have felt no emotion strong enough to write about lately. [bodytext] => I am lost, deep within a dark forest. No sound escapes these ancient limbs as they reach out for me. Echoes ricochet and blend into the silence, and only the crunch of leaves beneath my feet, keeps me alert. I know that somewhere in this darkness there is a light. Walking through this silent prison consumes my passion... laying waste to my ambition. I try to climb into the light, but as i reach the top, a branch breaks, and i plummet to the forest floor. My fall is broken by the leaves, but my spirit is broken once again. I know that there is light, for green things do not grow without light, yet every time i fall, it gets harder to get back up again. I know that it is possible to find the light, for I have found it before, and I know that it will always be there, but at times... i just want to continue my walk, and never search again. Darkness consumes... and i would be consumed. Yet i cannot give in completely, and i cannot fight completely. Forever cursed to walk in the dusk. Leaves crunching beneath my feet... ever treading through misery and despair. A tree does not contemplate why it grows. Do the trees whose branches i break with my fall weep. No. They continue to grow, and hope to one day branch into the light. I like this. You have a favorable style even for musing.

Your reference to the light and your passion to reach it is immense...really like how the end draws in..magnificent musing in my humble opinion

As you well know it happens. You did a real good job with this.
Blessings,
emy
I think some times we have these feelings so we can relate better with others.

Its an interesting narrative style you have wrought.

"They continue to grow, and hope to one day branch into the light."

A very noble and hopeful ending allegorically told.
