Array ( [sid] => 176718 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Busted Rhymes [time] => 2013-08-16 16:37:47 [hometext] => My take on the real stories behind the nursery rhymes we all used to know as children Hopefully it will amuse some of you. One of my more off the wall writes! [bodytext] => Humpty Dumpty didn't fall off the wall, his lawyer vehemently claimed
Poor workmanship the major factor, cited as the cause
Loose coping stones could not afford the chance to stay aloft
And the warning signs were too discreet, the writing far too small

In the lobby, dark with pannelled walls, sat a damsel in distress
Little Bo Peep has lost all her sheep, her livelihood in shreds
Yet the truth was not what the papers wrote, but a sinister devious twist
The lady a fellon, exposed to the world, another insurance scam

Georgie Porgie looks out to the world, on a hazy Summer night
From the bars of his cell he can do no harm, only carving on the walls
In counselling he faced himself and came to find his shame
He kissed the girls but none dare speak of how he made them cry

The owl is a coach of a swimming club, the pussycat no more
The pea green boat now a barnacle home at the bottom of the sea
Had they heeded the words of the coastguard on that starry moonlit night
They would have retired to a villa in Spain complete with ocean view

What ails Jack Horner and his thunderous frame is familiar to wise old Jack Spratt
Gluttony chomped on too much Christmas pie and said "What a good boy am I"
Now the arteries creak and just like his wife the end is beginning to loom
When the last to be swallowed, too early they'll say, is his body into the ground [comments] => 3 [counter] => 317 [topic] => 7 [informant] => puppy_dog_eyes [notes] => Author's note edited per request in Poem Edit and Deletion Requests ~ Moderator_18 Aug 16, 2013 [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )

How fun this is! I will not look at nursery rhymes quite so superficially ever again! Wonder if the old lady in the shoe should sue the condom company!
Keep writing, please!

I am commenting now without checking if I have done previously purely from my reaction to the title , I have not yet read it or maybe can not remember reading it but I want to say I remember saying puppydog eyes suited you but it was not suggested by myself back then , it was you that said someone had named you that , lol strangely I find myself wondering seriously if her a d I are one n the same within spacetime factuality !!!??? However buster rhymes n my beloved rabbit only now at this point in time jump out at me with a synchronistic feeling of relevance , much love , eyes wide open this time apparently a band ? Xxx
