Breaths of chaos. My thoughts running, they intertwine Further into the dark It sends a shiver down my spine.
Nightfall opens up my mind But the dreams are not sweet, Memories attack my heart My only dream is one of peace.
It hurts to speak this way, To be so hopeless Wishes for the future change to fear This pain seams endless.
One mistake and I am back, Hiding on this island Punish me, it almost screams This island of confinement.
Always searching for the exit Use the woods as a disguise Calling out, nothing but my own voice replies.
In this limbo time stands still This road goes on for miles I think of this when people say "You haven't smiled in a while"

You open with, Lost, Alone, Helpless. I admire this thinking I have had about my own life. I admire it because it is frank.
It's difficult to be frank when you feel lost or alone or helpless.
Either one of these words equate to the same issue really. Everyone who has ever been lost feels alone, and also feels helpless. Everyone who has ever felt alone, feels lost, and helpless to some extent - if they're being honest. Everyone who feels helpless, feels lost, and alone.
I like this very much because it is frank. We are all this, what you describe. This is a beautiful poem - not tragic, but frank! I knew a guy named Frank who in a big way was all three. His life was tragic to the people who knew him. He never really connected because he had a lot of issues. It was long ago, a different time. Frank was a good guy, but he never measured up, he needed help. Don't we all?
A lot of people have lived tragic lives.
I hope you understand what I mean.
Peace! |
