But most of my memories are almost gone.
I remember our childhood dreams,
Then realizing what I had done wrong.

We were torn apart by unmeant angry words,
Which I still regret to this day.
Wishing I had said something better,
Wishing you would come back and stay.

I sit upon this old well, remembering
The promise that you made, which now makes me cry
You said you would help me whenever I needed it
So where is your shoulder for me to cry on, tonight?

As days go by, I sit here and wait
Hoping you will come back someday.
And as I wait, I gaze at the stars, remembering,
The last time you smiled, on that fateful day

A sad and forlorn poem straight from your hurting heart. Hugs, Dot
