Through this mask I only see The innocence that I've been taught Will I cry if it is gone? To see the real world through my own eyes
No envy No hurt No penetration Just a vague idea of love Only a few corners away
There is a profit in masks All brushed and happy ever after Steal kisses behind closed doors Filling up your daytime TV
The truth is difficult to find They keep on taking it away This is normal You are wrong Protect them from the reasons why
The mask went long ago But it's scars are still deep Left lying naked in the street Too afraid to see the truth again
